Contemporary
Contemporary considers the technique and discipline of classically trained dancers and blends distinctly modern movements. With the use of Modern ideas and innovations, Contemporary explores a greater range of movement and creativity.
Contemporary is performed by most dance companies around the world and is universally celebrated for developing the creativity in classical technique.
Modern
With a focus on creative self expression Modern sheds the traditions of costume and shoes. Mostly danced in bare feet Modern is more relaxed and freestyle.
Choreographers use emotions and moods to design original steps. There is also a deliberate use of gravity and Modern often utilises floor work. Whether your passion is for Classical or Modern the Vanessa Lee Dance Academy can develop your talent.

Fun, skilled and creative Vanessa Lee’s experienced teachers can really bring out the entertainer in everyone. Specialising in Glenn Wood Tap, it is a comprehensive syllabus designed for both teaching and evaluating Tap.
